Nevada Northern & Railroads of White Pine County

Welcome

United States map highlighting Nevada

Nevada map highlighting White Pine County & Nevada Northern Railway

Welcome to my web site devoted to the railroads of White Pine County, NV.

The county seat of White Pine County, NV and the center of railroad activity is Ely, located approximately 250 miles north of Las Vegas and 320 miles east of Reno/Sparks in the Great Basin region of eastern Nevada.

The purpose of these pages is to introduce the reader to the railroads serving the White Pine County copper mining operations in the "Sagebrush" state for the best part of the 20th century. Research information and original photographs are presented that I hope will be interesting and enjoyable to a variety of readers: railfans, historians, former and current residents of WPC, model railroad enthusiasts and those of us that "just love trains".

I welcome your comments, suggestions, and additional information and contributions that you can provide to improve these pages.
