Steel hopper No. 204, from the series No. 200-209. These cars were built in 1906 by the Pressed Steel Car Company and purchased new by the Nevada Northern Railway. They were sold to the smelter at McGill in August, 1915 for $350.13 each. You can barely discern the lettering for NCCC on the side of the car in the upper photo. They were later property of the KCC Nevada Mines Division. See the "NMD" crudely lettered in the upper photo.

Both photos taken at East Ely, NV.

Reporting No. Undetermined

There were a wide variety of hoppers used for various purposes. The reporting numbers of these cars is undetermined at this time, and whether they were on the roster of the NNRy and/or NCCCo. / KCC NMD also requires clarification.

Above left: wooden ballast car.
Above right: ex-Great Northern iron ore car used at the smelter.

Left upper & lower: wooden side dump ballast cars.
These ballast hoppers are from Copper Flat.

All photographed at East Ely yard, 07 August 2000.
